Use the correct app
Find the app through your bank’s official website and check its publisher on the specified app platform. Update it through the official mechanism. Do not install a file received in a message claiming to be an urgent fix or a special electricity-payment app.
The bank’s app and the supplier’s app are different tools. For this process, open the application you use for your bank. If the name or publisher raises a question, confirm it with the bank before signing in. Familiar colours or a logo are not sufficient verification.
Prepare the document and device
Check the correct supply, amount payable, deadline and reference on the bill. If the PDF is on the same phone, keep it at a known location so you can return to it without confusing older versions.
Use a personal device with appropriate locking and allow time for the final review. Avoid sharing your screen or handing the phone to an unfamiliar person for guidance. If the device is not functioning normally, choose another official channel or obtain support before starting the transaction.
Locate the relevant payment function
In the official app, look for bill payments and the appropriate organisation where supported. Menu names vary and are not part of a universal layout. Read the complete recipient name before selecting it.
If favourite or previous payments are available, use them only as an entry aid. Check the new amount, reference and date. If you cannot find the option described on the bill, consult the bank’s official help instead of choosing a similar organisation. Saved details can belong to an older account or arrangement.
Scan a code only where supported
When the app supports reference scanning, follow its instructions and use the code from the correct bill. Review what was inserted afterwards. Scanning simplifies entry but does not verify that a document is current or belongs to the intended property.
If the code is on the same phone, use only a supported app function or enter the reference carefully. Do not upload the bill to an unfamiliar service to convert a code. If reading fails, compare manually entered characters before continuing. A successful format check cannot replace checking which bill you selected.
Read the complete summary
Check the amount, reference, debit account, execution date and recipient where displayed. Also read any disclosed charge. A small screen may shorten descriptions or require scrolling. Do not approve until you have seen the information needed to identify the instruction.
If reading is difficult, use the device’s available accessibility settings or another official channel with a clearer display. A familiar repeated gesture on the phone does not replace review. Notice whether the date schedules a future payment rather than requesting execution today. These instructions have different statuses after submission.
Read the approval request
The banking process may include a separate confirmation request. Check the displayed details against the transaction you started. Do not approve an unexpected notification or treat it as a necessary account update without reading its content.
Do not disclose PINs, passwords, one-time codes or recovery codes. The bank explains which actions belong inside its official environment. If someone requests a code through a conversation or access to your device, stop. For a question, contact the bank using verified information. Assistance should not require giving another person control of your approval.
Check the history before repeating an instruction
If a call, app closure or connection interruption disrupts the process, reopen the official history. Look for the amount and date and read the status. Do not treat the absence of a final screen as proof that the payment failed.
For an unclear result, ask the bank to check before submitting a second instruction. Review any payment already scheduled or direct debit expected too. Another payment method does not necessarily cancel an earlier instruction. You need the actual status of each transaction rather than an assumption based on where the screen stopped.
Store the receipt carefully
Keep the official receipt or final history entry. Check that it concerns the same payment rather than scheduling alone. Store it in a personal location with the bill. When sharing it with support, exclude unrelated banking activity and unnecessary information.
When finished, close the session according to the app’s instructions and secure the device. If the phone is lost or you suspect someone else has access, contact the bank’s official security channel promptly for guidance. EPOS Electro cannot block a device, cancel an instruction or inspect banking history.
Frequently asked questions
Is scanning required to pay?+
There is no universal requirement. Available options depend on the app. Use the supported reference-entry process and review the result, whether scanning is involved or not.
What if I receive an approval notification unexpectedly?+
Do not approve it. Read the content and contact your bank through its official channel. Only the bank can investigate the particular request.
Can I keep only a screenshot?+
Prefer the official receipt where provided. A screenshot taken before final execution does not demonstrate settlement. Check the status of the history entry.
